A single enormous peony fills the canvas in extreme close-up,  layers upon layers of cream-ivory petals spiraling inward toward a warm rose-gold center. The impasto is thick and sculptural; each petal catches light differently, shifting through ivory, champagne, palest pink, and warm cream. At the deepest folds, subtle sage-green shadows. At the center, a glow of peach and gold where the stamens hide. The edges dissolve,  there is no clear border between flower and space.

Peony Alba is the quietest piece in the Botanica collection, and perhaps the most powerful. In large format it becomes almost abstract,  a landscape of white folds and golden light. It asks nothing of its surroundings except stillness. It works in bedrooms, suites, spa treatment rooms, bridal suites, and any space where serenity is not a suggestion but a requirement.
